ThriveCart just went monthly: what changed on July 17

The short version

On July 17, 2026 ThriveCart announced a monthly subscription model with a 30-day free trial, and moved its famous lifetime deal to a small "available as a lifetime option" footnote. Existing customers keep their current licenses. If you were planning to grab the ThriveCart lifetime deal, the pricing you'll see today is different from most reviews online.

For years, ThriveCart's whole story was "pay once, own it forever." That was the pitch that built it — a one-time price in a market of monthly SaaS bills. On July 17, 2026, that changed.

What ThriveCart announced

ThriveCart published a press release introducing a monthly pricing model with a 30-day free trial. The new plans, as announced:

The release stated that existing ThriveCart customers are not affected by this change — if you already own a license, you keep it. The company also reiterated its 0% processing fees on your own gateway, its affiliate center, and its tiered community access, and cited 75,000+ businesses served.

What happened to the lifetime deal

It isn't gone, but it's no longer the headline. ThriveCart's homepage now leads with the monthly plans and the free trial. The lifetime option is surfaced further down, framed as "ready to commit for life? Available as a lifetime option." In other words, the default path a new customer sees is now a subscription — the opposite of the last several years.

This matters if you've been sitting on the fence. Most "ThriveCart pricing" and "ThriveCart lifetime deal" articles you'll find right now were written before July 17 and describe a world that changed last week. Check the current pricing page directly before you decide.

Context: the Pro+ shift in 2025

This isn't the first pricing change lifetime holders have navigated. In April 2025, ThriveCart replaced its one-time Pro upgrade with Pro+ at $295/year, and began putting some newer features — advanced affiliate management and advanced sales-tax handling among them — behind that annual tier. Long-time customers have written about the friction of "lifetime, all future updates" bumping into features that now sit behind an annual add-on. (See a five-year customer's account at bloggingx.com, linked below.)

None of that makes ThriveCart a bad product. It's a mature, capable cart with a big integration catalog, free course hosting, and a large, happy user base. The point is simpler: the deal on the table today is a monthly one, and the lifetime era it was known for is quietly winding down.

What this means if you're shopping for a cart

If you already run ThriveCart, nothing forces your hand — your license stands. If you're choosing a checkout in the next few weeks, the calculus is different than it was a month ago:

Disclosure: we make GoCushy, a checkout platform, so we're not a neutral party. The facts above are sourced and dated below; the part that follows is our pitch, clearly labelled as such. Everything up to here is meant to be useful to you whether or not you ever buy from us.

Where GoCushy fits

We built GoCushy around a different idea: your AI already writes your emails and builds your pages — it should be able to run your checkout too. GoCushy is a checkout your own AI operates from ChatGPT, Claude or Cursor, through 28 tools. Tell it "sell my $49 course with a $19 workbook bump and a coaching upsell," and it builds a live, payable checkout — on your own Stripe or PayPal. We never hold your money.

And on pricing, we're deliberately running the opposite way to the market's drift. This week we're opening a founding membership: $195 one-time, lifetime access, 0% GoCushy platform fees for life (you still pay your processor's standard rate — that part is Stripe's or PayPal's, not ours). It's capped at 200 seats and the doors close Friday, July 31, 2026 at 11:59pm ET. An optional Worldwide Tax & Affiliates Pack is +$95 at checkout.

If a lifetime deal on your checkout still sounds like the right shape — and you'd like your AI to run it — this is the week for it.

Founding member: $195 once, 0% platform fees for life.

Doors open Tuesday, July 28 and close Friday, July 31, 2026 at 11:59pm ET. 200 seats. Your AI runs the store; the money lands in your own Stripe.
