ChatGPT Can Now Run Your Store: GoCushy Is a Connector
GoCushy's MCP server now speaks OAuth, which means ChatGPT can connect as a first-class connector: add the connector, approve it once with your API key, and your ChatGPT runs your store — products, offers, checkout copy, coupons, refunds, tax. Claude and Cursor connect the same as always. Your AI operates; the money still lands on your own Stripe.
From day one the pitch has been "your AI runs your selling." Until now, "your AI" mostly meant Claude or Cursor — MCP-native clients that connect with a key. As of this week the biggest assistant of them all joins properly: ChatGPT connects to GoCushy as a connector, with a real OAuth consent screen instead of pasted config.
Connecting ChatGPT
- In ChatGPT, add a connector and point it at
https://mcp.gocushy.com/mcp. - ChatGPT opens GoCushy's consent screen — paste your API key from the dashboard there, once.
- Done. Ask it to list your offers, and you'll see your store answer back.
Claude Desktop, Claude Code and Cursor connect exactly as before — npx @gocushy/mcp with your key, or the remote URL. Nothing changed for existing setups; ChatGPT's flow is additive.
What your assistant can actually do
The MCP toolset is the whole selling surface, not a demo: create products and prices, compose offers with order bumps and one-click upsells, edit every line of checkout copy (headlines, bullets, guarantee, deadline, button text — even the legal notice block we shipped this week), mint coupons and shareable coupon links, connect your email tool and set follow-up rules, read your sales, issue refunds, activate Stripe Tax and add registrations. One conversation, an operating store.
Why this is safe to hand to an AI
Because the server is the adult in the room. Prices are server-authoritative — an agent can't invent a discount that doesn't exist. Checkout copy fields are length-capped plain text rendered into fixed zones — an agent can't break the layout or inject a script. Deadlines and seat caps are enforced where money moves — an agent can't ship fake scarcity because the platform won't render a countdown the server won't honor. The agent gets a steering wheel, not a welding torch.
Your ChatGPT just became your ops team.
