Abandoned-Cart Win-Back, for Every Merchant — Through Your Own Email Tool

TL;DR

Every GoCushy checkout can now recover abandoned checkouts — through your own email tool, with your own sequences, triggered automatically when a buyer starts paying and doesn't finish. New this week: full follow-up rule management in the dashboard, agent tools to configure it in one message, and a consent-first design that keeps EU win-back honest by default.

Founding week is behind us — thank you to every founding member. First post of the next chapter, and it's a feature every seller asks for by name: abandoned-cart recovery.

How it works

When a buyer starts a payment on your checkout and doesn't finish — card declined, closed the 3-D Secure window, walked away — GoCushy notices about half an hour later, and adds them to your email platform with the tag or list you chose. Your ESP's automation takes it from there: your sequence, your sending domain, your unsubscribe. We're the trigger and the segment; your email tool sends the emails. If the buyer completes the purchase — that offer or anything else of yours — the win-back is suppressed automatically. Nobody gets a "you forgot something" email about a thing they bought.

It works with all thirteen connected email providers — Kit, ActiveCampaign, Mailchimp, Klaviyo, MailerLite, Drip, GetResponse, Brevo, Flodesk, HubSpot, Beehiiv, Loops, EmailOctopus — and the dashboard now shows per-provider setup one-liners for wiring the automation on your side.

Manage it like a grown-up feature

Follow-up rules — purchase, refund, upsell, renewal, and now abandoned — get a full panel in the dashboard: create, edit, pause without losing the configuration, delete, and per-rule health (when it last fired, and whether your email connection is erroring). Your agent gets the same powers: ask it to "add an abandoned-cart follow-up to my Yoga offer tagging abandoned-yoga in Kit" and it's one tool call. Agents can now also list and edit existing rules, so they stop creating duplicates blind.

The consent part, done properly

Here's where I'll claim a differentiator: emailing someone who didn't buy is marketing email, and in the EU, UK and EEA that needs real consent. So when an offer has an abandoned-cart rule, its checkout automatically shows an unticked consent checkbox — and buyers in opt-in countries only reach your email platform if they ticked it. An explicit "no" is honored everywhere, on every trigger. Most carts leave this problem entirely to you; GoCushy ships the honest default. (Usual caveat: not legal advice — but it's the posture we'd want as buyers.)

Recover the sales that almost happened.

Abandoned-cart win-back through your own ESP is live for every GoCushy merchant — Free and Pro alike. Configure it in the dashboard, or just ask your AI.
